Christmas 2022 Celebration
It
was a great joy returning to normal life this academic year after the
disruptions of the Covid pandemic. This included the full celebration of Advent
and Christmas in accordance with
Schneller traditions. Members of staff were invited with their families
to join the boarding department celebrations after being excluded for
the last two years.
The season began with the making of advent wreaths and decorations for
classes, church, and boarding homes.
St. Nicholas Day was celebrated on Tuesday 6 December 2022 with
the usual Schneller gift of peanuts and tangerines after chapel.
Mr. Wissam Saadeh with the boys of Family 7 did a nice job decorating
the church and its Christmas tree.
The program of the boarding department began with the Christmas service
in St. Michael's Church on Wednesday 21 December at 6:00 PM followed by the traditional Christmas
dinner, and finally the distribution of presents to all students.
The presence of members of staff with their families made the
celebration extra special this year.
Miss
Rabab Matta with the two Santa Claus volunteers did an excellent job
bringing joy to the children through the distribution of the Christmas
presents.
We thank Miss Rabab Matta, Mr. Wissam Saadeh and the boys of BBH 7, our
music teacher Mr. Joe Bou Assli, Chef Salah and his kitchen team,
and all the educators who worked hard to make our celebrations very
joyful.
We sincerely thank the Lutheran Board for Mission Support - USA (LBMS)
and the Theodore Schneller School chapter of the alumni association for providing the funds for
buying nice Christmas presents to all boarding students.
The celebration of the academic department was held the following day Thursday 22
December at 12:30 PM in St. Michael's Church.
The program was very nice with the participation of every class with a carol, poem, or
sketch. Carols were sung in Arabic, English, German, and French.
Everyone had a wonderful time.
We thank and congratulate our students and teachers for the nice program that was
presented.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
May the coming year bring peace to Europe, the world, and our region.
Above all, we pray for a new beginning for Lebanon with the end of
corruption, disruptive political rivalry, fanatic confessionalism,
suspending democracy through the influence of arms or armed groups,
murder as a tool for political power, and endless pollution and
destruction of nature; and a return to human dignity, transparency,
political and judicial integrity, accountability, freedom, and equality
for all through democracy and the rule of law. This is the only path for
prosperity and a better future of peace and goodwill for all citizens
and residents of this beautiful but sadly battered land.
